As a student with an interest in Law and Politics, my career goal is to become a Civil Rights Attorney. To achieve my goal, I am involved in leadership positions, community service, and internships.
I am the captain of Central High School’s track and field team. I am also the founder of Joi’s Back to School Donation Drive, an annual donation drive that provides the students of the Salvation Army’s Red Shield Residence with school supplies for the upcoming school year. And during the summer of 2018, I was a judicial intern at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
During undergrad, I will continue to participate in internships and use Drexel University’s co-op program to gain experience in the legal community within Philadelphia, PA. Following undergrad, I plan to enroll in law school and use my Juris Doctor, J.D., to focus on human rights, equality, education, and discrimination. As a Civil Rights Attorney, I will maintain a focus on interactions amongst minorities and the Philadelphia Criminal Justice System, because minorities are most often underrepresented on defense.
