Personal Statement:
With my degree in computer science, I aim to use technology to make positive change. Right now I am interested in applying computational strategies to neuroscience research and have been working in a neurobiology lab this past year to learn more. I will be conducting my own research throughout the 2018-2019 school year sponsored by Pitt and CMU’s Center for Neural Basis of Cognition, and I hope to make some meaningful discoveries. I also plan to do co-op rotations throughout the 2019-2020 school year to enrich my experience formally working in the tech sector. I enjoy participating in University-sponsored hackathon competitions with my peers, in an attempt to create programs that solve a problem, on a global, national, or community level. There are many paths I can take post-graduation, and whether it be advancing medical research, helping develop software for a good cause, or creating my own applications, I want to use my tech skills to make the world a better place.
